Using UK official documents in Spain -- for residency, civil registry, employment, or other official purposes -- typically requires a sworn translation by a Traductor Jurado. This guide explains what is often required and how to prepare.
Spain public bodies, civil registries and courts require translations prepared by a Traductor Jurado -- a translator formally accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A standard UK certified translation is typically not accepted in its place.
Spanish civil registries, residency authorities and notaries typically require both an apostille on the original UK document and a sworn translation. Requirements can vary between different regions (Comunidades Autonomas) and individual offices.

For sworn translation only, email a clear scan or good-quality photo of your document to us. You do not need to post the original. If an apostille on the original is also required, we will advise on posting the original at that stage.
